Queensbay Mall welcomes Spring in real grand style. The central Atrium of the Mall has been transformed  into a Chinese Garden reflecting the Chinese heritage, architecture and landscape. Shoppers expressed their delights that it is like stepping into the gardens of one of the popular tourist spots in China.

The theme for this Chinese New Year is “ the Arrival of Spring .. at Queensbay Mall. It is indeed a sight to be cherished – blooms of pussy willow and chrysanthemums, bamboo and bonsai, fish ponds, wishing well and corridor walkways along the bridges on the left and right. This beautiful setting is further enhanced by the lighted  lanterns of various sizes and shapes. It exudes a sense of tranquility and harmony where one really feels the arrival of spring. Added to the attraction is a giant lantern hanging down from the ceiling with 8 levels of red tassels, peeping through the  tassels you can see a eight-faced rotating lantern designed with 8 traditional beauties playing 8 different types of  traditional Chinese musical instruments welcoming spring.

Surrounding the Central Atrium, Chinese Folk Art demonstrations such as   dough sculpture art, candy blowing forming  the Chinese zodiac animals and Chinese calligraphy will be demonstrated  during this month-long  festive period. One can also sample various types of Chinese teas while being mesmerized by the soothing tune of Chinese orchestra and musical instruments such as guzheng, pipa, erhu, yungzhin etc. For the bargain hunters, there is Queensbay Mall China Town offering an array of Chinese New Year’s delicacies, fashions, Chinese New Year decorative and household items and traditional Chinese art  & craft by well-known master craftsman from China
