What a sight to behold, as Pinocchio, the Golden Peacock, Captain Jack Sparrow, King Kong, Mandarin Princess, Little Prince & etc. gathered at Queensbay Mall last weekend. Their Mission - - To compete and grab the title as Champion of Q-Kids’ Halloween Costume Competition 2008!

This year was more brilliant than the previous, as twenty-six little contestants were not just there to show off their costumes, but also to display their talents. From singing to acrobatic antics, it was a tough competition. The contestants were judged based on 3 main criteria: (1) Appearance & Costume; (2) Entertainment Ability / Talent; and (3) Overall Presentation. Shoppers and parents were supportive cheerleaders to hype up the competition.

Hee Lee Joyce (Aged 11) dressed as the long-nosed Pinocchio captivated the judges’ hearts not just with her costume but also her uncanny acrobatic act. With her extraordinary ability, she bedazzled the audience and judges when she bent her body and touched her head with her feet.

And finally, the 3rd runner up, Walter Teoh (Aged 4) delighted the audience and judges as the miniature resemblance of Captain Jack Sparrow, the Pirate.

Consolations prizes were awarded to the Little Prince (Tan Bing Yang – Aged 5); King Kong (Teh Yeong Hong – Aged 7); and Mandarin Princes (Tan Si Hui – Aged 10).

For the rest of ‘Halloween’ fellowship and contestants, none went home disappointed as the convoy proceeded to a ‘Treat-or-Trick’ session around the mall. The evening ended well with all kids going home happy with a ‘sweet tooth’!
